Shifting into a Harvest Season
I believe we are shifting into a reaping season in the church. Yes, it is the beginning of harvest time. The body of Christ is shifting into a harvest season, and we have to get that revelation to see the fruit that we’re supposed to reap in this time. There are sowers, and there are reapers. You have to understand when you’re in a reaping season, or you’re not going to see what God has called us to see.
I believe that if you’re hearing or reading this, you’re a reaper. Media is on the forefront of this reaping season. We will reap everywhere: in our local churches and beyond. The harvest is plentiful, but media is one of the best ways here in the end times to spread the gospel and harvest people who need to be reached. People are connecting through media. Student athletes, people who aren’t getting anything spiritually, they’re connecting through media.
I believe we are shifting into a reaping season in the church. Yes, it is the beginning of harvest time.
The Call to Reap Locally and Regionally
I believe this word is for this city, for this region. Yes, it’s for the whole body, but especially here, we are getting ready to experience a harvest season. There’s nothing more exciting than that. But we have to have our eyes open to how God wants us to do it.
If you’re going through a lot right now, like me and my wife have, it’s probably because the devil knows you’re a reaper. He knows you’re walking into that season. If you’re feeling restless, it’s because you’re being called to rise up.
You have to understand when you’re in a reaping season, or you’re not going to see what God has called us to see.
A Word from John Chapter 4
Let me show you through the Word. John chapter 4. A lot of times we focus on the woman at the well. But look at what happens after. John 4:30 says, “They came out of the town and made their way toward Him.” People are coming and making their way toward Jesus. They need to be reaped.
Right here on this rug in my workplace at Icon, we’ve seen several people come to know the Lord. They walk through the door, making their way to Jesus, and they just need someone with eyes open to reap them. My buddy Josh got saved here, and not long after, he brought a guy from the railroad who wanted to know about Jesus. We sat right here, talked, and that guy gave his life to Jesus. People are making their way to Jesus, and we have to be ready.
People are making their way to Jesus, and we have to be ready.
The Food of the Reaper
Verse 31 says, “Meanwhile his disciples urged him, ‘Rabbi, eat something.’ But he said to them, ‘I have food to eat that you know nothing about.’” January 9, 2019, in one of the darkest moments of my life, I heard the audible voice of God while I was asleep. He said, “Read John 4:32.” I jumped out of bed, grabbed my Bible, and read, “But he said to them, ‘I have food to eat that you know nothing about.’” I’ve been pondering that ever since. Verse 34 says, “My food,” said Jesus, “is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work.”
We are at the end. If you’re a reaper in this season, you’ve been sent to finish His work. There’s no greater call than to bring it all home. We have to get serious about the call. Why are you doing your podcast, your ministry? Because God is calling us to finish the work. He’s coming.
We are at the end. If you’re a reaper in this season, you’ve been sent to finish His work. There’s no greater call than to bring it all home.
Open Your Eyes to the Fields
To sit at the same table as Jesus and his disciples in eternity, you’ll have to eat the same food, which is to do the will of the Father. I challenge you: is this going to be the answer to someone’s prayer?
Verse 35 says, “Don’t you have a saying, ‘It’s still four months until harvest’? I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest.” Open your eyes, y’all. Look at the fields. People are dying to be saved. It’s time to swing the sickle. Joel 3 says, “Swing the sickle, for the harvest is ripe.” Multitudes in the valley of decision. The day of the Lord is near.
The Power of Unity in the Harvest
This is why we have to unify. One puts a thousand to flight, two put ten thousand. What can 30 or 40 do together? What could 100 do? Multiplication. The Spirit of God will come like never before when people begin to unify.
The Sower and theReaper Together
John 4:36-38 says, “Even now the one who reaps draws a wage and harvests a crop for eternal life, so that the sower and the reaper may be glad together. Thus the saying ‘One sows and another reaps’ is true. I sent you to reap what you have not worked for. Others have done the hard work, and you have reaped the benefits of their labor.”
God told me, “Brad, I’ve called you to be a reaper. But don’t ever think this is about you. People before you have done the hard work.”
There are sowers and there are reapers. One sows, one reaps. These are Jesus’ words. If you’re a reaper, know that people before you have done the hard work. But you have to arise. If you’re a sower, keep sowing. But if you’re a reaper, don’t get stuck thinking you’re a sower.
Let the Reapers Arise
Every generation is supposed to have a revival, an awakening, a harvest. But sometimes the reapers get suppressed. They’re not noticed, they only know what the sowers poured into them. And sowers, sometimes they get jealous. They say, “I sowed this, I’m supposed to reap this.” But is it for your kingdom or for the Lord?
If we suppress the reapers, we won’t see the harvest. If you’re a reaper, celebrate that you’ve heard this word. It’s unlocking what you feel in your spirit. If you’re a sower raising up reapers, let them go. Say, “I know who you are. Here’s all my backing. Go.”
Reaping Looks Different Than Sowing
Reaping seasons look different than sowing seasons. Different tools, different methods. Don’t use sowing tools in a reaping season.
Ask God: how do I go into this next season? What tools do I need? I got on my knees for four years in the basement, asking God, “How can I help you get your bride back? How can I help bring awakening?” And it wasn’t through my good ideas. It was through serving people. Helping them get their messages out.
We must harvest what others have sowed. A crop of eternal lives is in the balance.
Harvesting Eternal Life
Reapers, it’s time to draw your wages. Time to harvest eternal life crops. We must harvest what others have sowed. A crop of eternal lives is in the balance. The sower and the reaper are glad together when both play their roles.
Reapers, you can’t keep doing what you’re not called to do. Pastors, let your reapers arise. Sowers, don’t discourage the reapers. Reapers, don’t get stuck playing a sower role. There is no harvest without both.
The sower and the reaper are glad together when both play their roles.
The Greatest Harvest Needs the Greatest Reapers
Many generations have never seen reapers play their role, and they’ve missed the harvest. I believe every generation is supposed to see a harvest, but reapers must arise. The enemy doesn’t want them to. If you’re a reaper, it’s time.
In the last days, there’s going to be the greatest revival, the greatest harvest, and the greatest reapers. More reapers than ever before. Sowers come first, then reapers. Sometimes sowers disciple people to do it their way only, and this keeps reapers from rising.
God keeps reminding me, “Brad, I’ve called you to do what you haven’t worked for. Just step in and do it.” Everyone will reap their wages in heaven, but if you’re reaping when you’re called to sow, or sowing when you’re called to reap, you’ll miss your reward.
Others have done the hard work in our city. Prophets, intercessors, prayer warriors—they’ve come before us and prayed and prayed for this ground. Thousands have prayed for this city to see a harvest. Tears have wet this ground. Now it’s time for us to answer the call and become reapers.
Media as a Tool for the Harvest
Podcasters, YouTubers, media creators: it’s time to arise. Why are you doing your podcast? It’s bigger than your podcast. It’s to reap the souls out there that need to be reaped. BGTV is not about the show, it’s about the souls.
Ask God: what adjustments do I need to make in my ministry to reap the harvest that’s here? I call the podcast out of you. I call the reapers to arise. There’s more in you than you’ve been giving. This is for the King. To bring it all home.
There’s more in you than you’ve been giving. This is for the King. To bring it all home.
A Final Call to Reapers
The greatest harvest means more reapers than ever are going to accept their role and step out. It’s time for all of us to give it our all. Evaluate why you’re doing what you’re doing and ask God to speak to you.
Reapers, arise.
