Dear Friends,

As I worked through the stories in this issue, I kept coming back to the same thought: God has a way of meeting us right where we are and leading us into moments we couldn’t have scripted ourselves.

You’ll see that in Dr. David Shapiro’s remarkable journey—from Orthodox Judaism, to atheism, to finally discovering Jesus in a way that rewrote his entire life. You’ll also walk with Pastor Chris Cloud, whose quiet faithfulness carried him from a prison cell to a FedEx truck to the hands-on ministry he now leads through ABEL Ministries. His story is a reminder that revival often starts in the simple act of showing up.

This issue also brings a deeper look into the heartbreak and resilience of Israel through Shani Ferguson’s writing on the hostages—stories that are painful, honest, and filled with a kind of hope the world can’t take away.

Over at BGTV Studios, the hosts of the Birmingham Avenue Podcast sit down with country music artist Georgette Jones for a conversation that’s tender and full of grace. Her journey of faith, forgiveness, and healing adds such a rich layer to this issue. And in a special seasonal moment, Pastor Mark Driscoll offers a Christmas message that brings us back to the simple truth of why Jesus came—and why it still matters more than ever.

To bring a gentler breath into it all, we spend time with Shumi Sonia Muinde. Her life reminds us that God’s guidance is often quiet but unmistakably present, shaping every step with love and purpose. Each of these stories is different, but together they paint a clear picture: revival is happening everywhere—in Israel, in prisons, in recording studios, across kitchen tables, and in the quiet places of our own hearts.

My prayer is that as you read, you’ll recognize the ways God has been weaving grace into your story too.

With gratitude,

ree
